I have to admit, I love photography. If I wasn’t a florist, I would study photography and do that for a living. I’ve always loved photos. So when anyone asks me to do the flowers for a shoot, I quite often find myself saying yes before I’ve even looked at the calendar!!! I guess the fact of the matter is this: no matter how many photographers you know or how many times you’ve seen their work, I am always amazed at the vast array of beautiful images that can be produced from the keen eye of one person. Sure, it takes a few suppliers to put together a fab shoot - the makeup, hair, flowers, furniture…stylists…details, details… Ultimately however, its the photographer who captures that one image out of a thousand, that sets the industry abuzz, or casts a new light on an old theme. They are the ones who turn a photo with a pretty girl into a photo with more than just a pretty girl - light, shadow, movement, emotion, time, temperature…all these elements can be captured in ONE frame…just one.
I marvel at the work of all photographers, at the different way in which they capture an image, edit the image or compose the image. Give me half a dozen photos from the photographers on the Sunshine Coast, and I could probably hazard a guess at who took it. They are each so wildly different, so very considered, so beautifully unique.
With this in mind, it is with a vast amount of joy that I present to you the latest photo shoot I had the pleasure of partaking in. A challenge to be sure…three dresses, three different floral pieces, three opportunities to show a different side to floristry and style. I hope you like them, I had a lot of fun making them!!
