I love a beach wedding - sandy, breezy, salt air and a warm sun. What’s not to love? This wedding was a favourite from way back - the GLR pergola was christened and I had my first taste of florist/guest. Although I LOVED being a guest, it’s impossible (well nearly impossible) to enjoy yourself if you are fussing over details like reception pieces and rose petal paths…

Cylinder vases filled with river pebbles, dodder vine and singapore orchids lined the aisle, with yellow and white petals for the bride. The pergola was draped in muslin linen and the floral decorations consisted of lotus pods, magnolia, tropical leaves, white roses, dodder vine and orchids.

The groom had a green cymbidium orchid with feather detail. Everything was bound with bleached twine for a very beachy, nautical look.

The bride was adamant she wanted feathers and calla lilies in her bouquet. A touch of green helped to tie the whole look together.

The maids had lemon lisianthus, cream roses, white carnations and a bleached twine handle.
To save money, the bride had the aisle pieces taken to the reception to act as the table centrepieces. The look was fantastic, and worked really well at the Wollongong Surf Club!
