Andrea Sproxton Photography took time out to take these amazing photos of some beautiful bouquets created by GLR for none other than pure pleasure!!! Shot on location at Moffat Beach, Caloundra, the photos have sublimely captured my passion and eye for detail. From the purple garden bouquet to the more structured ‘flamingo’ pink bouquet – I loved both. They were later used at the A Darling Affair Expo in Woombye.
Only Andrea has the eye for detail to capture the nicest part of a peony as it opens – the golden filaments and the luscious pink petals create a look that have given this flower the nickname ‘The King of Flowers”
The two bouquets together
A purple garden inspired bouquet with anenomes, spray roses, blue moon roses, freesias and scabiosa seed heads. Bound with vintage cotton lace and pearl pins.
When we renovate our house at Shelley Beach, I’m going to get my own garden. There will be raised beds full of seasonal perennials ready for use in my bouquets – and there WILL be scabiosa seed heads. LOVE these little fellows!
The Ombre bouquet experiment – flamingo pink ginger lilies, soft pink spray roses, green/pink cabbage roses, purple sweet william and magenta peonies. Ivy berry surround.
The footed centrepiece was so exciting to create. Imagine a blank canvas. Fill the bowl with greenery of all sorts – berries, ferns, variegated leaves, seed heads – then fill in the spaces with colour. Don’t make it too symmetrical, use different shapes, textures and shades of the same colour to create this beautiful effect. Peonies, double tulips, cottage roses and spray roses…ahhh
What do you think? Did we get an ombre effect? I love this trend, I’ll be pursuing it more over the coming months!
